I called Sandi early on the morning of our session to see if she'd still like to meet for pictures. It was raining and stormy and so, so cold, and to top it all off we were both driving a few hours each way to meet at Beazell Memorial Forest outside Corvallis for the shoot. As is often the case when planning around Mother Nature, neither of us had any way of knowing if the weather would truly cooperate. But a girl after my own, determined heart, Sandi said she'd like to make their afternoon session work. I couldn't have planned the day better if I tried. We arrived at the park and it seemed as though the skies parted just for Kevin and Sandi. The evening was absolutely gorgeous and these two were stunning as they sat against the backdrop of an early 20th century wood barn. Sandi + Kevin, thank you so much for inviting me along on this amazing ride that is your wedding. I had a blast taking your pictures and cannot wait for your June wedding. Thank you for being beyond kind and giddy and so fun to work with. You make my job a breeze and I couldn't be more thankful to get to be your photographer!
Robbie + Kelly
It's always a little nerve-wracking meeting a couple for the first time. If they've already booked me for their wedding I'm even more nervous about how our first encounter might play out. What if they realize I'm actually really awkward? Or what happens when they discover I'm just a huge dork?! What if I have something on my face during the entire shoot?! But then Kelly showed up to the engagement session and told me she almost brought the same shirt I was wearing. And from that moment I knew, everything was going to be just fine. If we have the same taste in in blue button up shirts, I don't see how could anything possibly go wrong! Last month, during the very last week of gorgeous fall leaves and bright autumn colors, Robbie and Kelly met me at Smith Rock State Park for their Friday afternoon engagement session. After traipsing around the classic Central Oregon backdrop, we hopped in our cars and headed south in search of fall foliage. But not before making a pit-stop at the pumpkin patch to take pictures in a corn field!
Kelly + Robbie, you guys were even more awesome than I could have hoped. I had a blast spending the afternoon with you two and it made me all the more excited for next summer. I can't wait to document your gorgeous day at Pronghorn come July!

I met Daniel and Michelle for the first time at their engagement session atop the highest point in the Oregon Coastal Range, Mary's Peak. We couldn't have asked for better weather or bluer skies, but more than this I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful couple. I had the most wonderful time walking through fields and hearing all about how Daniel + Michelle met and fell in love, and eventually how Daniel proposed in front of Michelle's family at a cabin in Montana. I couldn't be any happier to get to be working with these two this year and documenting their wedding outside Portland next summer. Couples like this, and early-evening portrait sessions beneath towering trees, make me feel so blessed to get to be doing what I do.
