It makes me so very happy to finally be sharing this beautiful couple's wedding! Matt and Jo An were married earlier this month in a ceremony at Sisters' Five Pine Lodge. With both the bride's and the groom's families traveling from out of town to attend the wedding, their day was truly a celebration amongst their closest friends and family. I first met these two when we took their engagement pictures in Southern California late last year. I remember spending the afternoon walking around San Juan Capistrano thinking about just how excited I was for their wedding in Oregon. Fast forward a few months and we had finally arrived at the day when, after nearly a decade of dating, Matt and Jo An said I Do. I know no bride dreams of rain on her wedding day, but when dramatic storms threatened to change Jo An's plans for an outdoor ceremony, this girl handled it with a smile. Together Matt + Jo An patiently waited for the fleeting Central Oregon thunderstorm to pass by before, determined to say their vows beneath the towering pines of Sisters, scurrying to dry chairs, move guests, and set up a ceremony in record time. And just as they began to walk down the aisle the sun peaked above the clouds and covered their wedding in the most beautiful rays of light. Their day was truly perfect and I felt so lucky to get to be the one photographing their story!
After the ceremony Matt + Jo An carved out a significant portion of time for us to travel to the mountains for photos. The storm clouds parted and provided the most stunning backdrop for pictures. Selfishly I couldn't have been more thrilled to have these two beautiful people, and those big gorgeous mountains, to myself for the evening!
