As a painfully West Coast girl I never thought I'd hear myself say that there are parts of living in Virginia that I really, truly miss. The history, the style, the annoyingly irresistible accents. Colton and I just arrived home from shooting an amazing wedding in DC yesterday and while my feet feel as though they should be left in an ice bath for the next three days, I couldn't be any happier to have spent the memorial weekend in our nation's capitol. Having just spent the last five hours on a plane I'm officially taking the afternoon off to relax, enjoy the perfectly warm sun outside, and to spend a few minutes thinking about the incredible men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I believe, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they're the reason I'm able to do what I love, in freedom, while filing it under the guise of a job. I'll leave you with this completely unrelated sneak peek of the workshop I attended last Thursday with Gabriel + Carlie Davis. The full post (and more from that gorgeous tablescape) will follow later this week.
Happy Memorial Day,
Michelle
