The Things I'll Miss

I’ll miss falling asleep with his arms around me. Kissing him, whenever I want. Making dinner together and then laughing, all through our meal, as we talk about our day’s events. Walking Connie before bed. Playing cribbage…and beating him. Crying in his arms when it’s been a rough day. Or I’m stressed. Or maybe I’m just being tired and whiny. Driving anywhere, everywhere, with his Grande Americano, with room, and my Tall Americano, with room. Waking up beside him.

I will definitely miss waking up beside him.

But I think what I’ll miss the most when Colton is gone are the moments like these. They're the moments that remind me of the ordinary, routine, simple life we live.

Together.

Del Mar Horse Races

Remember that hypothetical Bucket List from a few months back? Well, when I found out San Diego county had real, live, living horse races, Del Mar made a bee line for the top of that list. At the end of the summer, on an afternoon when my dad was visiting, we made the quick drive down the Five to the race track. I'll admit I am a horrible gambler. Really, it's like pulling teeth to get me to bet two dollars on a horse race. But with my dad's money encouragement, I made a few small guesses as to which horse would pull through for the win.

And then I lost all six of my dollars. ...my dad's dollars.

Happy Tuesday,

Michelle
