Steven + Kimber

Earlier this month Steven + Kimber were married at The Mansion at Tuckahoe in Jensen Beach, Florida. Together with their closest friends and family, they kissed and cried and danced like tomorrow would never come. I’m always a little nervous when I show up to a wedding - especially a destination wedding at a venue I’ve never photographed - having never met the bride and groom. But from the moment I arrived to the rehearsal, Steven + Kimber and their amazing families welcomed me with open arms and open hearts - and even insisted that I enjoy a cupcake. …leaving me beyond thankful for the incredible couples I get to work with and all the sweetness they bring to my life.

Steven + Kimber, you're just the type of couple I wish would have a yearly vow renewal on every anniversary! Your wedding was a dream to photograph and your families were a joy to work with. But more than anything, you both are a delight to know. Thank you for inviting me to fly across the county to document your story and thank you even more for making me feel like we'd known each other for years. You really are the best and your kindness meant the world!

Ceremony time!

After the ceremony we grabbed a few quick bridal party portraits...

...before capturing Steven + Kimber in the lovely Florida sunset.

An epic reception entrance...

...and quite possibly the cutest cake toppers ever.

See the sweet couple below? Curious as to what their names are? COLTON + MICHELLE!!! I mean really, what are the chances?!

Many thanks to the stellar vendor team Steven + Kimber brought on for their wedding day. Brenda at En Vogue Event Planning was so helpful and kind to Colton and I. Her team went to great lengths to insure no detail of this day was forgotten. And the staff at the Tuckahoe Mansion went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Never have I felt more welcomed and appreciated than by these kind, kind people. They filled our tummies and refused to let me run out of water – leaving me to focus on more important things like capturing Steven and Kimber’s love. I wish I could wrap you all up and bring you with me to every wedding! xoxo –M.

Jared & Heidi

It makes me so happy to finally share Jared + Heidi’s Rock Springs Ranch wedding with the world. I hope by now you feel like you know these two - as well as their amazing families – and are as excited about their wedding photos as I am. After Cycle Pub and a swoon-worthy rehearsal dinner, I knew the day would be amazing and I couldn’t wait for the wedding to begin! Jared + Heidi, thank you for trusting me with your photographs. You are two of the kindest, sweetest people I’ve had the honor of working with and you should know that whenever I think of your wedding I’ll look back to those moments in the field when the horses seemed to come in droves. And then I’ll smile a big, happy smile because documenting your love (and your gorgeous day) seemed to bring rays of sunshine and joy!

The day began at Heidi's parents home in Broken Top - a perfectly picturesque location for detail photos...

...and a pair of Red by Valentino slippers. I die!

Jared + Heidi opted for a First Look, giving us ample time for photos.

It wouldn't be a wedding in Bend without a few cyclists passing by during portrait time!

Heidi! You are stunning!!

I absolutely fell in love with Heidi's bridesmaids and not-so-secretly want them to be friends of my own.

Their Anthropologie dresses are pretty wonderful, too!

No detail was overlooked at Jared + Heidi's wedding, including sweet drinks served by handsome groomsmen to welcome guests as they arrived to the ceremony.

Tate & Tate Catering was on hand to create the most delectable cocktail and dinner hour delicacies.

As always, Sara Carson of Blue Daffodil did a to-die for job with the florals.

I'll end this post with the following pictures. At sunset, Jared + Heidi wanted to sneak away for a few photos in the dewey evening light. And then the horses came...

Be still my heart!!

Many, many thanks to my sweet friend, Lauren for being my incredible second shooter for the day!

Alan + Jessie

It was bright and cheerful, yet it was timeless and classic. It was relaxed and carefree, yet it was intricately and perfectly stitched together. Jessie and Alan managed to create a wedding day that was exactly what I hope for for all of my brides & grooms - it was perfectly them. I think the nicest compliment a couple can get on their special day is to hear that their day was a true and accurate reflection of their love and relationship and union. And as I moved through the reception and spoke with guests at The Johnson Estate earlier this month, I couldn't count on two hands the times I heard guests speak of how much the wedding before them emulated Jessie & Alan's love for life and beauty and each other. Mr. & Mrs. Dale, thank you for asking me to capture your love. I've been looking forward to your wedding since your engagement session last February. Your style is so classic and your joy so contagious, but really it's your love that's truly captivating. Thank you for inviting me to your epic party and asking me to stay and dance a little. And thank you for being you - beautiful, kind, hilarious you. I think you're both pretty great.

Lots of love, M.

If I could sum up everything that is beautiful about a First Look, it would be this image.

Jessie, you are stunning...

A sweet ceremony beneath a few towering pines.

Alan and Jessie met in an art class. So they thought it only fitting to include a little touch of their roots in their wedding day. As favors for their guests they took the time to hand spin clay mugs for every single person!
